En la edición de Abril de la revista LaLa se anuncia que el manga Natsume Yujin-Cho, creado por Yuki Midorikawa, sera adaptado a una serie animada para televisión. El manga que se viene lanzando desde el año 2005 lanzara su quinto volumen el 5 de Marzo próximo. Sobre la fecha de lanzamiento de la serie todavía no se ha informado nada, ya que recién empezó su producción.
La historia se centra en Natsume, un chico que tiene el poder de ver fantasmas. Por desgracia, los humanos le rechazan y los fantasmas tampoco son muy amigables. Un día, Natsume hereda un Yujin-Cho (libro de amigos) de su abuela, que está lleno de contratos que su abuela hizo para atrapar fantasmas. Los fantasmas empiezan a presentarse uno tras otro, y Natsume intenta liberarlos o ayudarles, aunque muchos lo que desean es vengarse.
